Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using Vault platform (the "Platform"), you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and any policies referenced in them. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform. Your continued use constitutes ongoing acceptance.
2. Role of Vault
Vault operates an online marketplace that introduces university students to independent local hosts offering temporary storage. Vault is a neutral venue only: it does not own, inspect, handle, store, transport, or take custody of any items, and it is not a party to any storage arrangement. Hosts are independent individuals and are not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of Vault. Each storage arrangement is a direct contract between the student and the host.
3. Eligibility & Accounts
To register as a student you must be currently enrolled at a supported university and provide accurate information. Hosts must complete Vault's verification (including national ID verification) before any listing is published. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Vault may refuse, suspend, or revoke access at its sole discretion.
4. Bookings & Payments
Bookings are requested by the student and confirmed by the host. Prices displayed on the Platform are estimates; the host confirms the final price before payment. Payments are made between the student and the host using the payment methods made available through the Platform from time to time. Vault does not guarantee any price, discount, voucher, or refund, and is not responsible for any payment, collection, refund, or pricing arrangement or dispute between students and hosts.
5. Student Responsibilities
Students must: provide accurate descriptions of all items; not submit prohibited items (Section 8); attend agreed handover times; photograph all items thoroughly at check-in and check-out; keep their own records; and comply with all applicable laws. The student warrants that they are the lawful owner of, or are authorised to store, every item they submit.
6. Host Responsibilities
Hosts must store items in a reasonably clean, dry, and secure environment; not open, use, move off-site, lend, sell, or dispose of any stored item; be available at agreed drop-off and collection times; and describe their storage space honestly. Hosts are solely and fully responsible for the items in their custody from check-in to check-out, and agree to indemnify Vault against any claim arising from their storage.
7. Prohibited Items
The following may not be stored through Vault: cash, jewelry, precious metals, or other valuables; identity, financial, or legal documents; perishable goods; hazardous, flammable, explosive, or toxic materials; weapons, drugs, or any illegal item; live animals or plants; and any item with a value exceeding EGP 5,000 unless expressly agreed in writing with the host. Storing a prohibited item is a breach of these Terms, is done entirely at the user's own risk, and voids any claim against Vault.
8. Check-In & Check-Out
Both the student and the host must photograph the items at check-in and check-out using the Platform's receipt feature. These photographs are the agreed and binding record of the items and their condition at handover. Failure to complete the photo check-in or check-out waives and voids any claim regarding the existence, contents, or condition of the items.
9. Cancellation Policy
A student may cancel a pending booking request before the host accepts it, at no cost. Once a booking is accepted, cancellation terms and any refund are agreed directly between the student and the host. Vault does not mediate, guarantee, or fund cancellations or refunds.
10. No Insurance & Assumption of Risk
Vault does not provide any insurance, warranty, or guarantee for stored items. Storage is undertaken entirely at the user's own risk. Users are strongly advised to store only items of moderate value and to obtain their own insurance for anything important. By using the Platform, the student knowingly and voluntarily assumes all risk of loss, theft, damage, or deterioration of stored items.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform and all related services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, security, or that any host, listing, or storage space meets a particular standard. Vault does not warrant the conduct, reliability, or suitability of any host or student.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Egyptian law, Vault and its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for any loss, theft, damage, or deterioration of stored items, which are the sole responsibility of the host. In all cases, and regardless of the legal basis of the claim, the total aggregate liability of Vault to any user shall not exceed the fees actually received by Vault in respect of the relevant booking.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Vault and its founders, employees, and affiliates from and against any claim, liability, loss, damage, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, your items, your conduct, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
14. Dispute Resolution
Disputes are between the student and the host directly. Vault may, at its sole discretion and without obligation, review check-in and check-out photos and booking data to assist an amicable resolution, but it is not an arbitrator, bears no responsibility for any outcome, and providing such assistance creates no liability on its part.
15. Account Suspension & Termination
Vault may suspend, restrict, or terminate any account at any time, with or without notice, including for suspected fraud, breach of these Terms, or conduct that may harm users or the Platform. You may stop using the Platform at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including liability, indemnity, and governing law) will survive.
16. Privacy & Data
We collect and process personal data (name, email, phone number, university affiliation, address, identity-verification data, and booking records) to operate the Platform. This data is shared between students and hosts only to the extent necessary to complete a booking. We do not sell your data to third parties, and we retain it only as needed to operate the Platform and to comply with applicable law. By using Vault, you consent to this processing.
17. Intellectual Property
Vault name, logo, and Platform are the property of the company. You may not use our brand, content, or Platform for any purpose other than the intended service, or reproduce them, without prior written permission.
18. Force Majeure
Vault is not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including service outages, natural events, strikes, or governmental or regulatory action.
19. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with any policies referenced in them, constitute the entire agreement between you and Vault regarding the Platform.
20. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
21. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Egyptian courts.
